London, June 2009: Noreen Cesareo, MA BA, Principal at Market Accents, has been confirmed as a tutor on the Masters course in Cultural Heritage Management at the University of Malta.

Noreen is providing expert marketing support to a Masters Student who is reading Heritage Marketing. The student’s focus is the use of experiential marketing within museums and venues of cultural heritage.

The proposed thesis will investigate the challenges and opportunities in marketing cultural heritage sites to visitors with relevance to the Maltese market.

In particular, the study will evaluate two museums in Malta, the National Maritime Museum, a public museum managed by state agency Heritage Malta and Limestone Heritage which is a private museum. The evaluation will include a comprehensive literature review, research on visitor experiences, questionnaires, observational studies including visitor mapping and in-depth interviews.

As Noreen Cesareo said; “Experiential marketing creates memorable experiences, making it easier to understand history, theories and abstract concepts. In Malta, it will make artefacts come alive to live in the visitor’s memories for a long time. In recent years interest in Malta’s heritage has grown tremendously. Refurbishment and restoration, new museums and exhibitions, growth in cultural tourism, and the awareness of the many cultural heritage assets, all have contributed to a real need for these sites to create meaningful, memorable experiences for the many visitors who enjoy Malta’s heritage as visitors and local communities.”
