No Going Back: Making Gender Equality Happen

www.weiforward.org At the beginning of their presidencies in December 2017, Canada (G7) and Argentina (G20) both announced a cross-cutting gender approach to their respective agendas. Margo Thomas and fellow panelists discussed the issues and challenges and alignment achieved by the G7, G20, T20, and W20.

Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting

The 2018 Women’s Forum reflected on some of the global challenges still faced by women, as part of a wider commitment to “leave no one behind” in the Commonwealth journey to achieving gender equality by 2030.

Several members of the WEI (www.weiforward.org) team participated, including Dinah Bennett, Nicole Pitter-Patterson, Sue Lawton, Margo Thomas, and Noreen Cesareo, who was also there representing the Commonwealth Girls Education Fund (CGEF) – www.cgefund.org and Pink Shoe and the UK Economic Blueprint (Team EB).

Margo Thomas was a speaker on the Panel discussing the Policy environment for Women’s Economic Empowerment. Panelists included H.E. Vice-President Suluhu Hassan of Tanzania and Prime Minister Muscat of Malta.
